On Saturday, December 5, 2015, San Dieguito River Park Rangers Bryan Ward and Natalie Borchardt hosted Teradata for their fourth annual service project. Eighteen eager volunteers joined us to plant along the Coast to Crest Trail near Del Mar. The soil took some considerable muscle to dig in, however this team was up for the challenge and planted almost 100 native plants in only a few hours.
The mix of native plants included cottonwood trees, many native shrubs, and several flowering plants that are sure to bring color to the trail this spring. The team also mulched, watered, pulled weeds, and cut down two non-native invasive trees.
We are fortunate to have local companies like Teradata that give back to the community. A big thank you to Teradata and their employees for their generous gift toward the purchase of plants and their community service efforts.
