You have 3 Options.
1. Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve West Staging Area
Managed by County of San Diego
Open 8:00am to sunset
From Ramona, drive 13.8 miles east on Hwy. 78.
Turn left at the Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve West sign into the staging area, just before going downhill to Santa Ysabel.
Trail Access:
At the northwest corner of the staging area. The Coast to Crest Trail is currently only a 0.40 mile segment on the north end of the trail system.
Notes:
ADA portable toilet available.
2. Highway 79 Parking Area
Managed by Caltrans

Trail Access:
Through the gate near the interpretive kiosk. This segment of the Coast to Crest Trail is currently only east of Hwy. 79 and also provides access to the West Vista Loop Trail.
Notes:
Parking on shoulder only.
No facilities.
3. Farmer Rd. Staging Area
Managed by County of San Diego
Open 8:00am to sunset
From Julian, take Farmer Rd. 2.2 miles away from Main St. (Hwy. 78/79).
Turn right on Wynola Rd. for 100 yards, then left, back onto the continuation of Farmer Rd.
Turn left into the staging area 1 mile past the Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve sign at the Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve East sign.
Trail Access:
Through the gate at the southwest corner of the staging area is the Coast to Crest Trail and
also provides access to Kanaka Loop Trail.
