San Dieguito Lagoon Staging Area
Managed by San Dieguito River Park
Open 6am – 6pm (October 1 – March 31) and 6am – 7:30pm (April 1 – September 30)
From I-5, exit Via de la Valle.
Go east on Via de la Valle.
Turn right onto San Andres Dr.
Turn left at the wooden sign into the staging area driveway just past the California Bank &
Trust building.
Trail Access:
At the southeast corner of the staging area next to the portable toilet.
Notes:
Alternative parking is on the street along San Andres Dr. with trail access at the interpretive
kiosk at the southeast end of the street.
ADA portable toilet available.
Trailhead Parking Del Mar
Managed by City of Del Mar
Open 5am – 2am
From I-5, exit Via de la Valle.
Go west on Via de la Valle.
Turn left on Jimmy Durante Blvd. and pass the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
After the bridge over the San Dieguito River, turn left at the roundabout onto San Dieguito Dr.
Immediately turn left into the parking lot.
Trail Access:
Use the sidewalk to cross the bridge back to the north side of the river. The San Dieguito
Lagoon Boardwalk is the first trail on the right, and the Coast to Crest Trail is immediately
following on the right.
Notes:
Pre-pay at the machine 8am – 8pm.
Access to River Path Del Mar is directly from the parking area.
No facilities.
No horse trailers.
