Parking Directions for Coast to Crest Trail at San Pasqual Valley

You have 4 options.

1. Sikes Adobe Staging Area
12655 Sunset Dr. Escondido
Managed by San Dieguito River Park
Open 6am – 6pm (October 1 – March 31) and 6am – 7:30pm (April 1 – September 30)

From I-15, exit Via Rancho Pkwy.
Go east on Via Rancho Pkwy.
Turn right on Sunset Dr.
Turn left at the white Sikes Adobe sign and go through the yellow gate on the left into the staging area.

Trail Access:

Follow the Coast to Crest Trail signs by going through the gap on the south side of the staging area fence and between Sikes Adobe Historic Farmhouse and the peach orchard.

Notes:

Alternative parking is on the street or at Sunset Dr. Staging Area at the end of the street with marked trail access at the trash can on the east side of the street just before the cul-de-sac.
Portable toilet available near the peach orchard at Sikes Adobe Historic Farmstead.

2. Old Coach Trail Staging Area “North”

14225 Highland Valley Rd. Escondido
Managed by San Dieguito River Park
Open 6am – 6pm (October 1 – March 31) and 6am – 7:30pm (April 1 – September 30)

From I-15, exit West Bernardo Dr./Pomerado Rd.
Go east on Pomerado Rd.
Turn left on Highland Valley Rd.
After 2.3 miles, turn right at the driveway to Evergreen Nursery Growing Grounds and go through the gate on the right into the staging area.

Trail Access:

Take the Old Coach – Coast to Crest Trail Link north and cross Highland Valley Rd. to reach the Coast to Crest Trail.
Poway’s Old Coach Trail is accessed near their interpretive kiosk at the southeast corner of the staging area.

Notes:

No facilities.

3. Ysabel Creek Rd. Staging Area
Managed by San Dieguito River Park
Open 6am – 6pm (October 1 – March 31) and 6am – 7:30pm (April 1 – September 30)

From I-15, exit West Bernardo Dr./Pomerado Rd.
Go east on Pomerado Rd.
Turn left on Highland Valley Rd.
Turn left on Bandy Canyon Rd.
Turn left on Ysabel Creek Rd.
Immediately turn right at the yellow gate into the staging area.

Trail Access:

From the south side of the interpretive kiosk, cross Ysabel Creek Rd. and go through the
wooden gate to head west, or head east past the picnic table.

Notes:

No facilities.

4. San Pasqual Valley Staging Area
Managed by San Dieguito River Park
Open 6am – 6pm (October 1 – March 31) and 6am – 7:30pm (April 1 – September 30)
From I-15, exit Via Rancho Pkwy.

Go east on Via Rancho Pkwy.
Turn right on San Pasqual Rd.
Turn right on San Pasqual Valley Rd. (Hwy. 78).
Go 2.75 miles past the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, and turn right on Bandy Canyon Rd. (just after the bridge over Santa Ysabel Creek).
Immediately turn right at the wooden sign into the staging area driveway.

Trail Access:

Horses use the access at the southwest corner of the staging area.
Bicycles and pedestrians use the access at the northwest corner of the staging area.

Notes:

Portable toilet available.
