The Backcountry of San Dieguito River Park Short Video Premiere

Home - News and Announcements - The Backcountry of San Dieguito River Park Short Video Premiere

September 7, 2014
Posted by: Shawna Anderson

Explore the rugged and wild Backcountry of San Diego River Park with Resources and Trails Manager Jason Lopez in this short video. The best places for visitors to go are the public trails at Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserves and Volcan Mountain Wilderness Preserve.

The San Dieguito River Park is actively pursuing alignments, agreements, and permits for various segments of the Coast to Crest Trail through the backcountry to complete the link between the ocean in Del Mar and the headwaters at Volcan Mountain. This is a very long process- consider that 45 miles of the planned 70 miles of Coast to Crest Trail have been built in the first 25 years of the park\\\’s existence. It will be several more years before every gap in the final 25 miles is built.

This is the fourth of a series of five short videos produced, filmed, and edited by Jim Karnik Films for the San Dieguito River Park.
